I am reading Joy Reichard's CELEBRATE THE FEMININE, an intro to
the Sacred Feminine, a "her~story" of the goddess that offers
instructions for altars and rituals, and features seven manifestations of the
Divine Feminine: Neolithic Goddess, Grandmother Spider, Demeter and Pesephone,
Hectate, Lakshsmi and Our Lady of Guadalupe.
Of course I had to go read the last chapter first since it's
about Our Lady Of Guadalupe. She has a blog entitled ARE YOU ENOUGH? on her
website www.joyreichard.com
and created IN HER NAME circles in San Manteo. California. The
book I am reading makes it possible for you to start your own IN HER NAME
circle.
Each section has
~Invocation Poem
~Information on the "herstory" and mythology of the
Divine Feminine persona featured
~Guided visualization
~Ritual of Experiential piece
~Music Suggestions for the ritual and guided visualization
~Integration activities
~A Table of Correspondences on the colors, foods, and
relationships or items that are special to each Goddess
~Recommendations
Joy's telling of THE STORY OF JUAN DIEGO is adapted from THE
APPARITIONS AND THE MIRACLE
and is one of the sweetest little tellings of his story I have
ever heard with lotsa historical facts.
The music Joy suggests is "Fourth Chakra, Heart
of the Earth" from CHAKRA HEALING CHANTS by Sophia.
^Gotta love a name like that.
What music are you listening to these days?
What books are y'all reading?
I heard someone on the phone call say they were reading SOPHIA
MARIA.
I read that book last year. I'd be interested to know what y'all
are reading along about now.
(I always have 4 or 5 books going at one time)
I'll share more later!
